R12: Restrict non-catalog request category visibility

 In 11i, we used to flag categories as available to extract to iProcurement and only those were visible. In R12, the process has changed and it appears all are available. I have hundreds of categories related to Direct that I don't want to show up in the non-catalog request form. How do I make those go away? I looked at the Catalog Administrator for Schema (Item Categories, Hierarchy, Mappings) and nothing is there, but it seems that's more for searching a catalog than creating a non-catalog request.

This is existing setup in a production environment so any pointers are appreciated.
