Unsupported DB targets?

 I am extending OEM 10.2.0.5 beyond our "new" RHEL (10/11 DBs) to our older HPUX servers hosting 8 & 9 DBs.  When the agent is installed/started the DBs are discovered, but when I try to configure I get:

"oracle.sysman.emSDK.emd.comm.OperationException: target {xxx, oracle_database} is broken: cannot compute dynamic properties in time. - target {xxx, oracle_database} is broken: cannot compute dynamic properties in time."

Support notes suggest checking for missing OMS/repository jobs, but that does not seem to be the problem.

Reviewing certification I see that the only supported 8/9 DB versions are 9.2.0.8 and 8.1.7.4, and my DBs are slightly below these versions (9.2.0.6, 8.1.7.2).
