Can we register additional attributes in a DFF used by India Localization?

 We are in the process of applying the India Localization patches on a 11.5.10 instance. This instance is used by the entities in US, Canada and Mexico, the plan is to use the same instance for India operations as well. There are a few descriptive flex-fields enabled and in use, we plan to move all of them to attributes other than 1-5, 14 and 15. The information captured in these DFFs is also applicable to the India operations and we have a situation on how to enable them from the front end without impacting the existing users and India localization functionality.

Questions

1) What could be the best way to capture additional information using DFFs that are used by India Localization?
