Installing Oracle Configuration Manager in Siebel Gateway on a Microsoft Cluster

Reference: Oracle Configuration Manager Installation and Administration Guide.

Scenario: Siebel Gateway/Nameserver is installed on a shared disk (F:) in a Microsoft Windows 2003 Server two node cluster (Active-Passive). It is a resource in a "Siebel Gateway" resource group consisting of a Disk, an IP address, a network name (siebelgw) and a Generic Service (gtwyns).

The Installation and Administration Guide does not address installation on a cluster. However, it does provide instructions for installing OCM on a single server. These single server instructions are used to install OCM on each cluster node.

Note: It is not possible to run setupCCR "as is" on a second or subsequent node because setupCCR will not overwrite its configuration from the first execution.

Howdy, Stranger!
