Approved Supplier Items

 I have created an approved supplier item last year, set the attributes to pull from a blanket po. That po is now closed. we created another blanket PO, and i keep getting the Duplicate records error when trying to find approved supplier item. Keeping me in a visious cycle that i actually have to close out and resign in. Is there some sort of security that these new patches have effected that will not let me update an approved supplier with it's new PO number?
