How to default item revision on to a PO with Revision control not enabled

 Hi,

We are on 11.5.10 and have a requirement to default item revision onto a PO based on the latest revision populated at Org Item level.. However, we do not want to turn revision control on and item revision is required purely for procurement activity. Please clarify if there is any adverse impact on manufacturing activities such as WIP transactions when item revision field is populated (though revision control is not enabled).

Any input will be greatly appreciated.
