Is there a way to change the Primary Unit of Measure for Items that are already defined?

 Hi,
Is there a way to change the Primary Unit of Measure for Items that are already defined?

For Example: If we wish to change the primary unit of measure for an item from EA to MONTHS or YEARS etc.

Any response will be appreciated.
