Customizing quote overview page

 Hi, we are trying to customize the quote overview page, where the user when selects Place order action and clicks Go button, a dialog box should be displayed to them with some information. I changed the jsp page and used alert in javascript to display the dialog box. But i am not sure how to test it. I bounced apache to test it, but it did not work that way. Do we have to do a full bounce or is there any specific way we need to do to test any jsp code changes like compiling etc.

We are on 11.5.10 CU1
