Question on Mass Copy

When running Mass Copy to tax book for several consecutive periods users encounter warnings from the concurrent request "Mass copy failed to copy this future dated transaction". Error is not encountered if this procedure is followed:  1) Run Mass Copy 2) Close period for 1 period at a time

Users say that this is a new issue and in the past few years periods were not required to be closed. 

There have been no changes, patches or anything new to the system.

Can anyone confirm or deny their claim?
