RMAN with large pool.

Questions:

1. If I don't config large pool, rman will just use OS memory?

2. After I config large pool, does that mean RMAN will use it automatically or I need to put some parameters in RMAN script?

3. If I decide to use large pool, roughly speaking, how much memory I need to allocate for the large pool? does it depend on the database size or how many channels that I am going to use?
