How to Inactivate Shipping exception when fields are protected.

Need to inactivate shipping exception type.  Fields are 'protected against update'.  This specific exception occurs frequently enough that it can't be considered an exception, per se.  It's already set at "LOW" but we don't want it to flag occurrences of postponed schedule date.
