BasciFiles and SecureFiles

Hi

  Can someone explain briefly about basicfiles and securefiles.  "Basicfiles are normal LOBs where they are stored in database" and "SecureFiles are LOBs where they are stored at OS level".  Is the above statement correct. Can someone correct me if am not.
