How to extend WebService BeginConfiguration / UpdateConfiguration with additional fields?

Hi all,

does anybody know how to
- add new custom fields on Product entity
- expose additional existing fields, such as "Hidden Flag" on Product Attributes
to be used for WebServices with BeginConfiguration/UpdateConfiguration?
