RMAN-06429

 Hi,
I am trying to register an 9.2 target database in a 11.1 catalog database and get the following errors when connecting from the 11g rman:

RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-00554: initialization of internal recovery manager package failed
RMAN-06429: TARGET database is not compatible with this version of RMAN

But I can connect from the 9.2 database to the 11.1 database thru RMAN 9i.  I thought it was better if the catalog database is a higher version than the targets.  Will I be able to issue rman commands to the 9.2 database from the 11.1 catalog?
