RAC node lost OCR and voting disk

Good Morning,

I have a 2 node RAC on Linux guests under VM. My raw devices for OCR voting and ASM disks are defined as SCSI devices on IBM DS8300, or possibly Shark. A couple weeks ago, node 2 lost the voting disk, and the CRS would not start. Two days ago, node 1 lost the OCR disk, with the same result. A reboot will get the node back up, but isn't the real solution.

In /tmp/crsctl-----, we found the message:

OCR initialization failed with invalid format: PROC-22: The OCR backend has an invalid format

I'm sure this means there is a configuration issue somewhere, but I don't want to rebuild the CRS/ASM/DB without knowing what the problem is. If there is a problem with the OS or disk definitions, this won't help.

Howdy, Stranger!
