Updating Read-Only attribute in agile

Hi,
I have a attribute, which is read-only, and I have to update the value of that attribute on update-event of some other attribute.... Currently, if I make the attribute read-only, I am not able to update it through SDK, it says that attribute is read-only.

Is there some other way by which I can keep the attribute read-only and at same time I can update it through SDK on an event ?
