How to change ASM Disk type to EXTERNAL from NORMAL

 I mistakenly had configured ASM Disk group as NORMAL instead of External. Now we have no space and i see all space my DB use is 50% and 50% of it is gone for Mirror. Mirror is not required for this database, as we mirror at storage level.

Please suggest me, how i can convert Disk type to external ASAP.
