Does removing software via runInstaller remove oratab entries

We recently removed an old 10g Oracle_home and discovered that several oratab entries were not there shortly thereafter, all of which referenced that home.  Does the software remove the entries as part of software cleanup now?  One of the other dba's here could have cleaned them up manually, but I was curious if that is part of the process runInstaller goes through.  The documentation I read doesn't specifically say one way or the other.
