Grid Control on a DataGuard scenario

 Hi, I'm running a DataGuard scenario with a primary DB and one Standby DB, is it necessary to install and configure Grid Control? Because i'm having a strange situation here, I don't know if it's normal, but I cannot access to my EM Database Control on my Standby database. Should I be able to connect to Database Control to my Standby DB? Although I can connect to the primary one, but i think I cannot do a switchover or a failover to the current Standby on the EM Database Control.

Another thing, I'm running Database 11gR2 what is the last available Grid Control? Is it the 10.2.0.5?
