Upgrading verses Changing Software to Oracle

Using JDE 810 with terminal servers what will 9.0 have that I am missing.   Should we think about switching to Oracle?  What will it have that we are missing? Or what will we be losing?  What are the costs differences?

I know going to 8.11 and up will need us to go to web servers, so hardware will need to be changed.

Since this will be a costly change should we think about going to Oracle?

For example Oracle Mfg vs JDE Mfg  or Peoplesoft Mfg , so if we are in the process of thinking about upgrading  should we plan not upgrading and switch to Oracle software.
