Where to find additional information when Grid Control reports an error?

I'm trying to configure a database in Grid Control 10.2.0.5.

At step 4 of 5, it's asking me for the server username and password.  When I supply it, the error message is "Connection to host as user oracle failed.".  I've given it the correct user and password, I've had someone else enter the same.  It is the correct user/pw.

Where can I find out what or why it's being rejected?
