TM lets you create claims against offers that are complete or past the end date- how to resolve tha

 The client is on 11.5.10

The system lets you create claims against offers and lets you associate earnings even after the end date of the offer.

The system also lets you create claims against offers that are in the completed status.

Are we missing something in the setups? Does any one have any work around for this?

We had logged a SR on these two issues and the feed back was the reference to the internal Bug 5233005 (BETTER HANDLING OF ASSO EARNINGS BASED ON OFFER STATUS)

Since there is no ETA on the resolution, we need to develop an alert or a warning message for the user when they are doing the claim processing. How do we do that?
