physical inventory tags

Is there anyone who has succeeded in printing inventory tags which are 2 part tags which can be written on and information carried through to the second copy? 

We have done the following, but I figure there must be an easier way:

• We have created a new tag which prints 2 copies of the tags
• Ordered special 2 part paper which imprints to the second copy which allows people to write through to the second copy
• The tags are printed through the regular oracle report then saved as a text file
• This text files is then opened in word
• The report then is sent to a Kyocera copier
