Form personalizations?

We added a personalization to the matching form APXPMTCH to display flex field data from the po_line_locations_all table in the Closed Reason field on the form.  

What we didn't expect is that this personalization is updating rows on the po_line_locations_all table.  Has anyone encountered this before?
