Is Oracle 11gR2 on Windows 7 client compatible to access 10g database on server?

We are assuming that once Oracle 11g client is supported all databases that are certified with 11g client would be supported. In other words, Oracle 11g Client (R2 that is supported) accessing an Oracle 10g database would be supported. Is that correct?
