ASM & RAID5

 We're trying to determine if there are any performance concerns with deploying ASM on a RAID5 setup (EMC SAN Config).

Has anyone had any negative experience with I/O Performance using ASM on RAID5? The concern is the additional stripping that ASM performs on top of the RAID5 stripping. 

The thought is to use RAID5 strictly for the DB Flash space.  And RAID1 (or 10) for DB Data space.

Would appreciate any comments/thoughts/suggestions.
