Split mass additions lines not copying the asset category

 I have a mass addition line with 10 units that was sourced from Payables, on which I have already entered the asset category. When I split the line, the 10 new lines appear without the asset category. Why is this happening? I ask because when I perform the same split on a mass addition line uploaded from a spreadsheet (WebADI), the asset category is carry forward on to all the new lines created by the split.

Any guidance/insight would be greatly appreciated.
