how to convert raw partition datafiles to file system

 We are using 9.2.0.8 oracle database. Our current database size is more than 1TB. So far we are using the raw partition base datafiles. But now there is need to convert the raw partitions based datafile to file system based database. What is the supported method for this large database ?  I have read only one article that uses the RMAN. But I think that will be very slow. Do you have option to use "dd" from the backup database raw to create file system based files ?
 FYI : we are using sun solaris 10 for the OS.
