Recovering datafile/ duplicate database oracle suggested backup

 Hi. I have regular backups of all datafiles (image copies) and archivelogs created by oracle suggested backup.

I want to recover database to some specific day, not to the last transaction, to the last day backup was taken.
So far I always got recovery to the last transaction with is not an option because a lot of data is missing, and I don't know what happened, I just know that day before(last recovered image copy) is fine, But I am unable to recover to that point. I used recover until sequence, until time, but I got always all logs applied.
