Problem with extra quotes displaying in parameter text

 Hi,  I was wondering if anyone could help me with this minor problem.  I'm passing in a title for my report via a user parameter and it displays with extra quotes around the first word in the text. 

For example, a title that I would pass in could look like this: Title of My Report

But instead it displays on my report like this: 'Title' of My Report

I have no idea why this would happen.  It's a character field, so I wouldn't think Oracle Reports would throw in an extra set of quotes.  Has anyone seen this?  Does anyone know how to get rid of it?  Thanks in advance for help with my minor little annoyance!
