Sessions init.ora parm

Hello,

I have just installed 10g 10.2.0.4 patch 29 onto a Windows 2008 64-bit r1 server.  I removed the sessions parameter from init.ora and converted it to an spfile.  I stopped and restarted the instance.  Now OEM is showing that the sessions parameter has the calculated default value based on the process limit.

I thought that when we removed the parm from the init.ora, that it would not be reinstitued in the spfile.  How can I set the sessions parameter to unlimited?
