Category Reclass - Depreciation rules inheritance

would like to better understand what happens on

category reclass+ inherit option checked to derive dep rules of the new category. I am getting wierd results or might be completely missing a basic accounting effect.

Example :

Asset 1 , category X , depreciaton method UOP reclassed to Category Y default method STL of 5 Years

Questions

1) Will the system treat Asset 1 as an STL asset post category reclass??

2) How about the otherway around , moving from category Y to category X in the above scenario and category X having a default method of UOP?

3) basically all our categories are set to UOP. We have several assets as STL , the method is assigned when creating the asset at the mass addition levels. now I want to understand  what would happen if these STL assets are done a category reclass, I understand the method will not change but wanted to know how the depreciation rules of the new category come into play ( since it is UOP)

Howdy, Stranger!
