I need to migrate a single-instance 2 TB database to a 2-node cluster (new servers)
Hello everyone!
Context: Oracle 10.2.0.4 EE with patch 32 under Windows 2003 R2 x64. Backend storage = EMC CLARiiON.
3 servers, 1 single is production, 2-node RAC new enviroment.
I need to migrate a huge database from server-1, to a 2-node RAC.
I've came across MAA papers and 10.2 documentation, but, so far, I couldn't find a scenario like mine.
In the docs, they installed asm, crs on server-1 and then added another server (add node).
In the MAA site, they have 2 methods: "hot migration", which I have to discard because I dont have sufficient space, and "cold migration", that looks promising, but so far, it is (the paper) destroying current Flash Recovery Area and reformatting as ASM disk.
