Database Install/Upgrade/Opatch (MOSC)

Prefered File system for database files on OEL 5.4 with Oracle 10gR2??? Please help

I have a strong windows background, im still weak in linux. We are creating a db on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.4 and i want to know what the reccommend file system should be for database files.
We are not intending on using ASM or OCFS as this is a single install. most of our servers, and client machines are all windows based.
Our drive or share will be comming from a netapp appliance which will be fully reduendent and connected through fiber to the blade which will be running it.

Should i create a cifs share and put the data files on there?
