/apps directory growing because of agent files

My /apps directory is growing (currently at %80) and I'm trying to figure out which agent files can be deleted with causing problems.

There are quite a few net files (i.e. net21017) in the /var/tmp directory. What are the files used for and can they be deleted without causing major trouble. Also, on any given day I end up with 2 huge core.hung files located in the $AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd directory. What are the files and what happens if one (or both) are deleted? Are there any agent files that can be removed and not cause trouble?
