Transaction Number missing in AR

Hi ,

we can find invoices till 1002 in our system and then we can not find invoice numbers from 1003 till 1051 and after that we can again find invoice numbers sequentially.

i am refering to AR transaction screen and feild named number ,which gets stored in the table

ra_customer_trx_all in feild trx_number.

We have auditors who ask about the gap in invoice numbers ..i am not sure what caused the invoice numbers to miss in the system.

Can someone answer this?
