Hello Oracle Gurus,

recently we had a Production Problem because the Oracle Database could not be mounted and reports "Media Recovery needed".
What was happend ? During an Online Backup Skript (alter database begin backup....) runs,  the Linux System  was shuting down.
Now the normal dbora, dbshut Procedures was called and Oracle was shutting down. After the Systemworks ending the System
starts and Oralce starts normal with dbora, dbstart. But then the Database could not be mounted and reports "Media Recovery needed" .

In this case wie planed a complete recovery of the corrupt Database. But a simpel "alter database recover"  and a following restart get

Howdy, Stranger!
