API TO CREATE PAYMENTS FROM ORDER MANAGEMENT

 Hi,
We have a requirement to create Payment/prepayment  from Sales Order once the SO is booked.
From Oracle Applications , we are creating Prepayments from SO header-> Actions->Payments>Enter Payment Line details->Process Payments.
Is there any public API that creates payments from Order Management?
What are the other alternatives available?
Any inputs on this regard will be of great help.
