Single Branch Plant vs Multi Branch Plants ??

 What's the pros and cons by setting up Single B/P vs Multi B/P?  My company wants to simplify/streamline its distribution and manufacturing processes. Currently, we have multiple branch plants setup in the JDE system. If we want to maintain the same BOM, route and cost for an item cross different manufacturing locations, would Single B/P be our best choices?
