How to Add a asset which has extended life when go live

 Does anyone have a good way or tips to add a assets which has extended life when user go live. For instance,

Date in Place : 1986/10/17

STL: 16 Years

Orginal Cost: 348,000

Extended Life :  8 times (exteded 1 year per time in leagcy system) , assume the extended 9 years

Current Depreciation Expense : 35

Go Live Date  : 2010-Apr-01

How to make the asset have same depreciation Expense amount  in Oracle Asset after user go-live on 01-Apr-2010?
