Available options to trigger events when chaging an attribute value

  Hi All,   Customer has the following scenario:   They have 2 custom fields in their Sales Order Line Item: Start Date and End Date.   Start Date is predefaulted to today().   End Date field needs to be populated after the user has selected an attribute value in eConfigurator.   Let's say Product X has and Attribute with values {A, B, C}. If user selects A, then End Date field should be populated with this attribute value.   What are the options to implement this requirement?   Thanks,
