Inventory Profile Option 11i vs R12

In 11i there is a profile option called 'INV: Use new Trx.Mngr. for processing' but it doesn't exist in R12.  Does anyone know the reason or what's behind this difference?  I did find the description of 'INV: Use new Trx.Mngr. for processing' in the Inventory Profile Options section of the help for 11i.
