Anyone using EMC Avamar and RMAN?

The site I'm consulting at is looking at a new software for backups.  They are currently looking at EMC Avamar.  Has anyone out there used this?  How does it affect the timings on backups?  I'm specifically looking for Avamar customers that are doing RMAN duplicates and what they've seen as far as timings.  Does Avamar make it slower or faster?  I ask this because Avamar has to "rebuild" backup objects during a restore because of the deduplication it uses.

We are on Windows 2000/2003 32 bit systems but moving to Windows 2003 64 bit in the near future.  Our production database is 450GB and a full hot backup usually takes 2 hours.  A refresh using this backup with RMAN duplicate on another server usually takes 4-5 hours.  We do our current backups to tape with one channel.  The backups go to an older tape library with Netbackup as the MML.
