Any way to cancel an intransit on-order?

An organization performed a transfer of an item to another organization using an intransit inter-org transfer. The items are currently considered to be in intransit inventory so still owned by the sender.

For reasons that escape me, these items have not been received at the other end and the items have been in intransit inventory for years. The sending organization has since been disabled and now the receiving organization wants to in effect kill the transfer.

Other than reactivating the old sending organization, receiving then writing off, is there a behind-the-scenes system way to address this?

Howdy, Stranger!
