AVERIFY questions

Hi:

I have some questions on running AVERIFY.  We have attempted to run this before and have lost connectivity between our items and Bills of Material. 

My questions are this:

1.  Does it matter if your test and validation environments are different (less servers, running app server and db server on one server)?  Should you get the same results because you are just working with the Oracle database?  I ask this because we ran the scripts from Oracle in test and validation.  Then we ran them in production and that's when we lost the connection.  Everything had question marks in front of it on the BOM.
