Refreshing an Instance running on ASM from a Non ASM Database

Hi,

I wish to refresh a Support environment which I had migrated to ASM from our Production Instance which is on normal file system.

My question is what is the best way to go about this? I was thinking of Duplicating the database to UAT on the normal Unix  filesystem and then migrating again to ASM.

I was wondering if there was a way of using our RMAN hot backup of Live to directly refresh my UAT instance which is on ASM?
