OM Sales order lines and Backorder history by item

Does anyone know of a way to get a history of backorders by item in either OM or WSH or INV or all three?  I am pulling my hair out to find a way to list what items for a group of sales orders were backordered and when they were eventually sent out.   Help?  I did a blanket search in the support community for Backorder and Backorder history and nothing fit this topic.
