Resource Approval

We would like to get rid of the resource approval process and just direct assign resource without the approval step in R12 projects.  Anyone else done this?  We also want to get rid of the conflict notification step if the resource is overcommitted as we get this on a report instead of having to take the extra step and click continue without removing conflicts?  Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance!  Matt
