SQL Developer and Read-only Access to Schema

I created a user and gave that user select rights to all tables in the schema tst_cxldb2. When I created a connection in SQL Developer, I could select data from the tables in the schema, but I could not click on the left menu to see table structures and column definitions. We are in the planning and testing phase of a new deplyment of a commercial application and access to the table/column definitions is critical.

I read document ID 395231.1 and the note about a bug that it includes. Basically, what I need is for the new user that when they open the connection in SQL Developer they see the same stuff in the left menu as if they had logged in as the schema owner, BUT have read-only access. I have auditors that are driving me crazy. They do not want the schema owner ID used outside of the server room.

Howdy, Stranger!
