JDE Engineering Change Management

Greetings all.  I have been asked to find information about the Engineering Change Management function in JDE.  I have never seen it or heard of it.  Can anyone tell me where I would go to get this information so I can have an understanding of what it does and how it works.  I need to be certain it will not interfere with any of our existing processes.
